Fashion Inspirations from Wimbledon 2015
Every year the British summer is excited by one of the world’s most famous tennis tournaments : Wimbledon. The 2015 edition ended a few weeks days ago .
Beyond interest or not against tennis playing , someone might ask what on earth tennis players outfits will have to do with the inspiration for formal fashion , and yet … even at Wimbledon there have been opportunities to observe men and women wearing their best clothes!
Held from June 29 to July 12 on the playing couts of the prestigious All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the 2015 edition of the tournament Wimbedon – the number 129 in history – was one of the most exciting since a longtime.
This last edition will be remembered for a long time for the final game of Novak Djokovic, that won on the eternal opponent Roger Federer, depriving him of the success as just happened in the last edition .
Among women the winner was Serena Williams who, in just two sets, managed to bend in the final Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza.
Athletes of course have to follow official rules on the playing fields: they have always to wear shorts, T-shirts and accessories only in white (allowed only light colored details ), worth a heavy fine just as happened to Roger Federer a few years ago who ” dared ” show up with orange soled shoes.
On the stands , however, it is possible to see a lot of perfect combinations and matches, among members of the royal family , VIPs and celebrities always on the first line during the days of competition. David Beckham made his appearance choosing a dark blue suit with white shirt and narrow black tie. Simple , but effective!
Even the Irish rugby player Brian O’Driscoll opted for a tight pattern, in shades of blue, matching a ” skinny ” tie with a blue shirt and a blue suit , creating a beautiful effect tone sur tone .
Josh Hartnett , however , preferred fantasies: dark blue suit , checked shirt and tie with small geometric designs in blue and red. It usually says that mixing two different types of patterns can lead to not particularly successful results, but in this case the American actor has definitely hit the center.
Many good combinations were also present the final gala.
All eyes were naturally focused on the two winners , Novak Djokovic and Serena Wlliams , that showed same elegance as playing talent. Serbian tennis player, in particular, choose to wear an elegant black suit, matched with a white shirt and a regimental green and blue tie. A great inspiration for the look of a winner!
